Most Tim Hortons restaurants run 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM on weekdays, and 15% of the 3,865 Canadian locations never close at all. This page covers the opening hours of Tim Hortons through a normal week, when breakfast and lunch are served, and every 2026 holiday with its real date — including Christmas hours, Christmas Eve hours and Canada Day.

Hours vary by location. 583 Canadian restaurants are open 24 hours.
That table is the typical case rather than a rule. Tim Hortons hours are set by the person who owns the restaurant, not by head office, so a store beside a hospital keeps different hours from one in a strip mall two blocks away. Three patterns cover most of the country: the 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM standard above, a slightly shorter 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM on quieter Sundays at some locations, and round-the-clock service at the 583 restaurants that never close.
Weekends are where the variation shows up most. A downtown store that serves office workers often trims Saturday and closes early on Sunday, while a highway location does its heaviest trade at exactly those times. If a specific trip matters, look the restaurant up in the store locator — every one of the 3,865 Canadian locations carries its own seven-day schedule.
The part of Tim Hortons hours that trips people up most, because it works differently from other chains.
Breakfast hours
All day
From opening until close at the large majority of Canadian restaurants. There is no breakfast cut-off to race — the breakfast sandwiches, Bagel BELTs, Farmer's Wraps and Loaded Croissants stay on the board all day.
Lunch hours
10:30 AM to close
Lunch is added rather than swapped in. Soup, chili, sandwiches, wraps, bowls and flatbread pizzas come on at around 10:30 AM and stay until the doors shut.
Dinner hours
Same as lunch
Tim Hortons runs no separate evening service and no dinner-only items, so an eight o'clock order looks exactly like a one o'clock one.
The all-day breakfast policy is the single most useful thing to know about Tim Hortons breakfast hours. Most chains stop serving eggs at ten or eleven; Tims does not, at almost every location in Canada. The exceptions are a handful of very small stores and some seasonal or limited items that a franchisee chooses to run only in the morning, so an unusual order is worth confirming rather than assuming.
Tim Hortons lunch hours have no hard edge either. Nothing is taken away at 10:30 AM — the hot lunch items simply join what is already there. What does change through the day is stock. The soup of the day can run out at a busy store well before closing, and the bakery case thins out through the evening, so the earlier half of the day is the safer bet for a specific item. Prices for everything on both menus are on the breakfast menu and the lunch menu.

Tim Hortons restaurants are franchise operated, so holiday hours vary by location. Highway, hospital and airport locations often stay open when nearby stores close.
Three dates get asked about more than the rest of the calendar combined. Here is what changes on each.
Christmas Day
Closed
Tim Hortons Christmas hours are the simplest on the calendar: there are none. This is the one day of the year the chain closes across Canada. A small number of airport, hospital and highway locations stay open because the site they sit inside does, but the ordinary neighbourhood restaurant is shut all day.
Christmas Eve
5:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Tim Hortons Christmas Eve hours are a normal opening with an early close. Most restaurants trade the morning as usual and shut in the late afternoon, and the 24 hour locations generally close overnight rather than running through. New Year's Eve follows the same pattern with a slightly later finish.
Canada Day
Regular hours
Tim Hortons Canada Day hours are ordinary hours. July 1st is a full trading day and one of the busier ones of the year. The only thing that shifts is in towns where a parade or street festival closes the road outside, where a restaurant may trim its evening.
Boxing Day is back to normal hours, which surprises people who expect a second closed day after Christmas. New Year's Day runs reduced hours near 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with many stores opening later than usual rather than closing early. Good Friday, Easter Monday and Canadian Thanksgiving are all regular trading days.
Provincial holidays are worth checking separately, because they are not the same day everywhere and not observed everywhere. The third Monday in February is Family Day in Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and New Brunswick, Louis Riel Day in Manitoba, Islander Day in Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia Heritage Day in Nova Scotia — and it is not a holiday at all in Quebec, Newfoundland and Labrador or the territories. Quebec observes Fête nationale on June 24th instead. All of them are in the 2026 table above with the real date and weekday.
Tim Hortons does not split its day the way most chains do. Breakfast never really ends — the breakfast sandwiches, Bagel BELTs and Farmer's Wraps are available all day at the large majority of restaurants — so there is no cut-off to race. What changes is what gets added: the lunch side of the menu, meaning soups, chili, sandwiches, wraps, loaded bowls and flatbread pizzas, comes on around 10:30 AM and stays until the doors close.
Dinner is the same menu as lunch. Tims runs no separate evening service and no dinner-only items, so an 8 PM order looks exactly like a 1 PM one. The practical difference after dark is availability rather than the menu itself: baked goods sell down through the evening, and the soup of the day can run out well before close at a busy store. If a specific item matters, the earlier half of the day is the safer bet.
Most Tim Hortons restaurants open at 5:00 AM on weekdays — that is the single most common opening time across the 3,865 Canadian locations in our data. Highway, hospital and campus stores often open earlier, and 15% of Canadian Tims never close at all.
The most common closing time is 11:00 PM. Suburban drive thrus frequently run later than the dining room, and around one location in seven is open 24 hours, so a late coffee usually depends on which store rather than what time it is.
Some are. 583 of the 3,865 Canadian locations in our data run 24 hours a day, which is about 15% — typically highway service centres, hospitals and busy urban drive thrus. The dining room may close overnight even where the drive thru stays open.
No. Christmas Day is the one day of the year Tim Hortons closes across Canada. Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve usually run reduced hours instead, and stores are back to normal on Boxing Day.
Yes to both. Canadian Thanksgiving, Good Friday and Easter Monday are all regular trading days for Tim Hortons, though individual franchisees sometimes trim hours. Of the 21 holidays tracked on this page, only one closes the doors.
3 holidays run reduced hours, usually somewhere near 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and the rest trade normally. The full table on this page lists every Canadian holiday with its 2026 date and weekday, worked out fresh on every rebuild rather than typed in per year.
Yes, in two ways. Provincial holidays differ — Family Day is Louis Riel Day in Manitoba, Islander Day in Prince Edward Island and Heritage Day in Nova Scotia, and Quebec observes Fête nationale instead — and every Tim Hortons is franchise operated, so the owner sets the trading hours. The store locator carries each restaurant's own schedule.
Lunch items come on around 10:30 AM at most restaurants and run until close, while breakfast is served all day at the majority of locations. Soups, chili, sandwiches, wraps and bowls are the lunch and dinner side of the menu; Timbits, donuts and drinks are available whenever the doors are open.
They are the dominant schedule computed from 3,865 real Canadian store records, not a figure anyone typed in. Because every Tims is independently operated, treat it as the typical case and check your own restaurant in the locator before a special trip.
